From Baby Showers Invitations to Baby Shower Favors
You've volunteered to host and plan your best friend's baby shower party. Great. Now, what?
The first thing you'll have to decide on is whether this is going to be a surprise for the mother-to-be or if she is going to be involved in the planning. Undecided? Make it a bit of both. Let her participate in some aspects like coming up with the guest list, choosing time and date and theme, but make the rest of the details, like the gifts and games a surprise.
Although there's actually no reason why husbands and male significant others shouldn't be invited, but most baby showers I've attended were women-only affairs.
What really makes a baby shower a party a fun day to remember are the baby shower games, so make sure you have several of those lined up. There are tons of ideas on the web– silly games like guessing what's in a "dirty diaper", door prize games, brainstorming wacky baby names, and lots more.
Of course, don't forget the baby shower favors as a little "thank you" for your guests. If you were to ask me, assuming it's an all-women party, I'd love one of these pedicure set (photo). Whats the connection? Well, the baby is coming soon, and that means… she'll soon see her feet again!
