The best way to avoid common pushchair problems and find the best one is to try before you buy. You should try out a range of pushchairs, such as the maclaren pushchair, by taking each one out for spin around the shop, and make sure you try using all the different features and folding it.

You can also read pushchair reviews for specific brands online. Some of these reviews are from parents, and others are based on lab test data and feedback that rate each pushchair on a wide variety of factors including handling quality, comfort to push, ease of folding, how useful the storage space is, ease of car seat attachment and ease of use on public transit. You should do some research on the pros and cons of the major types of pushchairs, including buggy, travel system and all-terrain. Then you can compare features and prices on specific models that suit your requirements.

One of the most important things for a healthy pregnancy is diet. Women need to make sure that they eat a healthy, well-rounded diet. Mothers should eat natural foods. Processed foods, like granola bars, frozen dinners, or crackers contain a lot of preservatives, salt and other additives that are not healthy for the baby. Healthy pregnancy nutrition would include fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and legumes.

A pregnancy diet is unique because pregnant women need higher levels of certain foods and vitamins. Pregnant women need high levels of calcium and iron for the growth of the baby as well as to increase the blood in the mother's system. Protein needs increase during pregnancy for nourishing the placenta.

Another tip for a healthy pregnancy is to eat smaller, more frequent meals instead of the normal three-meals-a-day.

There is a text message service that provides expectant mothers with timely advice and healthy pregnancy tips via text message. All pregnant women have to do is text "BABY" ("BEBE" for Spanish) to 511411, and they will receive texts advising them to drink enough water, get flu shots, and how they can get free or low-cost health care for themselves and their baby, among many other topics.

The program is geared towards low-income and minority women, especially, as these groups tend to neglect prenatal care more then others. The service is called text4baby, and at times it has been used to deliver urgent alerts. Last fall, for example, a text went out warning women not to use sleep positioners, as they had been linked to infant deaths. In California, a text was sent to subscribers in a specific zip code that was experiencing a pertussis outbreak.
